How to maintain excellent quality? KINGFA Medical gloves quality testing process is revealed!
Oct. 14, 2024

Gloves have become an important protective equipment in daily life as well as industrial production to protect hands from injury and pollution. The quality of gloves directly affects the safety and health of users. Unqualified gloves may not only lead to the spread of bacteria and viruses, but also lead to chemical infiltration, physical injuries… which are detrimental to the user's health.

As one of the largest glove suppliers in the world, KINGFA MEDICAL puts quality and safety at the forefront of glove production. In order to ensure the performance of our gloves, we have developed a set of efficient quality control processes. The comprehensive quality control process ensures that the gloves produced by KINGFA  MEDICAL meet the highest standards. Next, we will introduce in detail the quality testing process in glove production and explore the secrets of KINGFA MEDICAL's consistently high quality.

Grammage Testing

Grammage testing is essential to maintain control of product parameters. Generally, a low grammage may cause the glove to tear easily, while a high grammage may affect dexterity and comfort.

For grammage testing, samples of process gloves are taken according to our sampling specifications, and the weight of the samples is measured by using a precision balance. Grammage testing during the production process helps to ensure consistency in production and that the product meets the customer's needs.

Thickness Testing

Thickness affects the protection, durability and comfort of gloves, ensuring that gloves are uniformly thick to prevent punctures and tears. Different gloves for different applications require different thicknesses to ensure that the gloves provide adequate protection in a given environment.

Our thickness tests utilize thickness measuring instruments to measure the fingertips, palm and wrist of sample gloves, ensuring that the thickness of each area meets the standard requirements.

Mechanical testing

Mechanical testing is used to evaluate gloves’ performance and safety during use and to ensure that they are effective in protecting the user. Gloves with insufficient tensile strength may break during use, resulting in safety hazards.

KINGFA MEDICAL uses a tensile tester to physically test glove samples, measuring the tensile strength, tearing force, elongation at tear and 300% constant elongation load of the glove.

Titration Test

Titration testing is an important part of evaluating chemical residues in gloves to ensure safety and compliance of the final product. Gloves may have chemical residues during the manufacturing process, such as additives or detergents. These substances may cause skin irritation and trigger allergic reactions, thus affecting the user's health.

KINGFA MEDICAL's titration testing process is as follows:

Sample Preparation: A configured sample is drawn from the production line as specified.

Dissolution Process: The configured sample is placed in a suitable solvent to dissolve it completely and release the chemicals in it.

Titrimetric Analysis: The dissolved solution is titrated using a standard solution to determine the concentration of the chemical. Through the titration reaction, the amount of the specific chemical in the sample is calculated.

The results of the titration test are an important factor in determining whether the glove meet quality standards. Through rigorous titration testing, we are able to provide our customers with high quality, safe and reliable gloves.

Water Suspension Test

The water resistance test evaluates the waterproofness, durability of gloves and is performed as follows:

Water Resistance: assesses whether the gloves are effective in blocking liquid penetration under certain conditions

Pressure Resistance: test the performance of gloves under a certain water pressure to assess their water resistance under high pressure conditions.

Material Integrity: check whether the glove material is deformed or broken during the water lifting process.

In order to ensure the consistency of testing and reduce human error, KINGFA MEDICAL introduced an automated water lifting system. This system not only control the water level and pressure quickly and accurately to improve the inspection efficiency, but also enhance the reliability of the inspection results.

With the automated system, the staff only need to fix the sampled gloves in the water lifting machine, ensure that the water source is connected properly. Then they can start the machine to observe the gloves' water leakage directly according to the internal management requirements, and ultimately determine the product quality of the batch of gloves according to the standards.

Appearance Test

Appearance testing assesses the overall quality of the gloves. If the surface defects of gloves are not detected in time, they are likely to cause the gloves to break during use, which not only affects the protective effect and comfort of the gloves, but also directly affects the user experience.

The main contents of appearance inspection include as follows:

Surface defects: detect whether there are tears, bubbles, cracks, oil, powder marks and other defects on the surface of the gloves

Color uniformity: detect whether the glove color is uniform and whether there is color difference.

Dirt and residue: check whether there is dirt, grease or obvious chemical residue on the glove surface.

In the past, glove appearance inspection was always done by manual sampling, i.e., the staff carried out visual and tactile inspection of the sampled gloves. Although this method is less costly and more flexible, the efficiency is slower, especially in mass production.

KINGFA MEDICAL is currently introducing an in-line visual inspection system for gloves. The system uses high-resolution cameras and high-performance visual inspection algorithms to identify defects in the surface appearance of gloves. When the system identifies unqualified gloves, it will open the rejection program to reject such gloves. This system ensures that defective gloves do not flow into the packaging process through online automatic identification and rejection.

The in-line vision inspection system is fast and can handle a large number of products in a short period of time, which provides higher efficiency for mass production.

By combining the characteristics of manual and machine inspection, KINGFA MEDICAL carries out machine inspection before the packaging process and manual sampling inspection after the packaging process to maximize the inspection effect and improve the quality of glove products.

From raw materials to finished product testing, KINGFA MEDICAL keep pursuing excellence in every aspect. Through strict testing standards and systematic processes, we ensure that our gloves meet product standards and customer needs. Quality is not only a promise, but also the cornerstone of our sustainable development. In the future, we will continue to optimize our testing process and adopt advanced technologies to enhance product quality and production efficiency.
